Israel closes Bethlehem checkpoint

A number of closures have been announced by Israeli occupation forces at Checkpoint 300 located north of Bethlehem ahead of a Jewish holiday.

According to the Israeli decision, the checkpoint was closed at 10:00 yesterday would reopen at 04:00 today, only to be closed again as of 10:00 today until 17:00. The checkpoint will again be closed from 15:00 tomorrow until 22:00 on Sunday.

Those wanting to cross into Jerusalem when the crossing is closed have been told to use Al-Anfaq and Mazmoriya checkpoints.

Thousands of Israelis gather every year around Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque, known as Rachel’s Tomb to Israelis. This is to mark the passing of Rachel, wife of the Prophet Jacob, who according to religious narratives was buried there.
