The former International Relations Commissioner of the Muslim Brotherhood said on Monday that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement — Hamas — has stuck to its founding principles established when it was launched 29 years ago, Al-Resalah has reported. “Unlike others, who are currently begging their enemies to recognise them and those who gave up their past,” explained Professor Yousef Nada, “Hamas has stuck to its principles; it has neither faded nor faced meltdown since it was founded in 1987.”
He described Hamas as “unique” regarding the use of weapons. “It does not use them against its own people or those in other countries” who oppose its own view about the Palestinian cause. This was a clear reference to the fact that the military wing of the movement has never carried out any operations beyond the borders of historic Palestine.
Nada, the international businessman and father of Islamic banking, renewed his criticism of the Ramallah-based Palestinians Authority’s opposition to Hamas. “[The Palestinian Authority’s] life ends when the life of its allies ends,” he pointed out. “So it will not live long after the end of the [Israeli occupation].”
According to Nada, the Arab Peace Initiative is a means to “undermine” or “destroy” the Palestinian cause. He stressed that their full rights would return to the Palestinians despite the “fierce battle” waged by opponents to deny them.
