All Muslim countries have a responsibility to support the Palestinian resistance, which should be a source of unity in the Islamic world, Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, said today.
The Leader made the remarks in an opening speech to the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising) in Tehran.
“Despite the differences that exist among Islamic countries — some of these differences are natural, some originate from the enemy’s plot and the rest are because of negligence — the issue of Palestine can and should be the pivot of unity for all Islamic countries,” Khamenei said

Delegations from 80 countries are believed to be attending the conference to express solidarity with the Palestinian people. Some 700 foreign guests and representatives of pro-Palestinian organisations are also taking part in the two-day event in Tehran.
“We should never forget the importance of extending our political support for the people of Palestine,” Khamenei said.
He mentioned that the world is “witnessing signs of the Zionist regime’s decline as well as the feebleness of its main supporters, especially the United States.”

The global environment is gradually moving towards confronting the hostile, illegitimate and inhuman measures committed by the Zionist regime, he added.
During his inauguration speech in Iran’s capital, the leader also commemorated the anniversary of the death of Malcolm X, the American Muslim leader.
