At least five people were reportedly killed in a bomb explosion in central Sudan’s North Kordofan state on Saturday.

The bomb exploded in a crowded market in El-Obied city, the capital of North Kordofan state, according to witnesses.

There was no claim of responsibility for the blast and Sudanese authorities have yet to comment.

Saturday’s attack came hours after an explosion struck an intelligence headquarters in El-Obied on Friday, which local authorities blamed for a fire in a weapons depot in the building.
