Former Israeli Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar has told heads of Jewish organisations in New York that considering the Palestinian state as a solution to the conflict is a “mistake,” Israeli newspaper Ynetnews reported yesterday.
“It is a mistake to [revisit] the idea of creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank as a solution for the [Israeli-Palestinian] conflict,” reported Ynetnews.

He added: “Creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank will fill the area with Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as extremist Islamic refugees.”
Sa’ar pointed out that “such refugees will be involved in a fight against the Jewish state and Israel will not have control over it.”
