The head of the Palestinian Authority General Intelligence Service Majed Faraj met last month with Mike Pompeo, a few days before he became US secretary of state, Israel’s Haaretz newspaper reported.

According to the paper, the “extraordinary” meeting took place despite the political boycott announced by the Palestinian Authority against the administration of US President Donald Trump.

The paper pointing out that Pompeo met Faraj when he was still the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

The meeting was held with the knowledge of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, according to Palestinian officials, and a small number of senior officials.
