A 20-year-old Palestinian was shot in the leg by Israeli occupation forces yesterday for carrying a Turkish flag during the “Great March of Return” protests in the Gaza Strip.
In spite of being hit, Emin Selim did not let go of the flag and could be seen carrying it when while being transferred to hospital on a stretcher.
” I wanted to thank Turkey for the support it gives the Palestinian people,” Selim said.
Israeli troops deliberately targeted this flag because they’re uncomfortable with the heroic stance Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Palestinian people have taken.
Selim added: “I wanted to congratulate Erdogan on the success he had achieved during the elections on 24 June at the same time by raising the flag because this leader has stood by us for many years and helped us.”
