Al-Aqsa is on the verge of destruction

Is there enough emotion and sense of protectiveness remaining in the heart of the nation to cause it to stage an uprising for sake of Al-Aqsa Mosque? I am almost certain that the emotions in the hearts of the nation have been affected by the things which anything alive is affected by, including death, distraction and numbness. However, it is very difficult to believe that the nation would give in to humiliation and subjugation when its holiest site is harmed, as is the case with Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is not only for Palestinians, and not even only for the Arabs. It is a miracle mosque, unlike any other Muslim mosque. It carries important religious spirituality and is a place for the nation’s leadership and sovereignty.

OPINION: Threats against Al-Aqsa and Israel’s Judaisation policy

How do the Arabs and Muslims receive the news of Al-Aqsa Mosque being stormed by settlers and them performing their religious rituals in its holy courtyards, attacking unarmed women, men, children and youth stationed in the mosque? These innocent Palestinians are beaten, arrested and subjected to various forms of provocation, while the settlers attempt to establish and perpetuate the mosque’s temporal and spacial division between Muslims and Jews

Jerusalem has been the holy city of the Canaanite Arabs for many centuries, and today it is being subjected to a process of confiscation and a takeover, in which some of those who have betrayed their religion and honour are involved, replacing their honour with humiliation and disgrace. All Western and Israeli historical and archaeological research has proven that there is no historical presence of Jews in Jerusalem and that their claims are nothing more than lies. Despite this, Arab Jerusalem is gradually diminishing. After Jerusalem was the capital of Palestine, it was divided into two parts, and now they have come to the part that they have called East Jerusalem, the Arab side, and started taking it part by part. They have even changed the city’s landmarks after desecrating the graves of the Prophet’s companions and the righteous.

Today, the Arab and Muslim efforts to defend Palestine, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa are at an all-time low. To make matters worse, an Arab force and its wealth is moving towards becoming a force in the hands of the Western enemies, while the Arab government is mostly allied with the Israeli enemy. It has recognised the status quo and recognised Israel as a state with legal and historical legitimacy.

They took our rights from right under us when they tricked us into accepting a state on 20 per cent of Palestine, including East Jerusalem. Then they began talk of land swaps, in the sense that we would swap our land for more of our own land. After being lost for a while, the Palestinians realised that the futile negotiations were nothing more than a trick controlled and run by the Zionist institution, backed by the imperial camp.

Only 40 per cent of the West Bank will be proposed to the Palestinians on which to establish their own state, or a so-called state, as Netanyahu announced that Israel would not make security concessions in any part of Palestine from the river to the sea. Meanwhile, Gaza is besieged, bound by psychological differences; mistrust and conflict over control of the PLO while its people suffer miserably.

However, we are a steadfast nation and we will channel the spirits of Boumediene, Ben Badis, Izz El-Deen Al-Qassam, Omar Al-Mukhtar and Abdel-Karim Al-Khattabi, as well as the spirits of the perseverant and proud generations throughout our history. In doing so, our future will be in the hands of our most honourable, strongest, most aware, most dignified, most courageous, most intolerable of our enemy, and most compassionate towards our people.
