Gaza health ministry’s covid lab out of service for second day

Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said today that its central laboratory has been out of service for the second consecutive day.

The laboratory was located in the headquarters of the Ministry of Health in Gaza which was severely damaged when a residential building directly opposite to it was destroyed in an Israeli air strike yesterday.

Al-Remal health centre, which is located in a facility adjacent to the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, was also severely damaged and is now no longer operational.

Dr Ayman Al-Halaby, the director of the Central Laboratory in Gaza, could not provide details as to when the lab, which carried out most covid tests, would be operational.
