The London Muslim Community Forum has said it will take legal action if waving the Palestinian flag is banned in the UK.
The independent advisory group which represents 1.3 million Muslims in London, said it had “received a number of concerns following media reports of statements made yesterday by Home Secretary, Suella Braverman… about the possibility of banning pro-Palestinian protests and the use of a Palestinian flag during pro-Palestinian protests.”
It added: “We were reassured by senior members of the Metropolitan Police that the Palestinian flag was not banned from being displayed.”
“We wish to remind everyone: the Palestinian flag is NOT a proscribed terrorist flag under current legislation. It can be displayed at pro-Palestinian protests.” [their emphasis]
