Germany announced yesterday that it had placed two Heron TB military drones at the disposal of the Israeli occupation forces to use in the current attack against the Gaza Strip.
The German Defence Ministry said in a statement that Israel sent the federal government a request for support to use two Heron TB drones.
The statement added: “We will provide two drones the Israelis had asked for. In addition, there are first requests for ammunition for ships that we will now discuss with the Israelis.”
According to Der Spiegel magazine: “Last weekend the Israeli Air Force asked whether Germany could put these two Israeli-made warplanes at its disposal for use in its response to the Hamas attack.”
In its statement, the ministry explained that “the German Armed Forces are currently leasing five of these drones from Israel, which are being used to train German soldiers” at a site in the occupying state.
According to Der Spiegel, last weekend, following Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Israel suspended the training of 16 Germans. The US and European countries have announced full support for Israel’s complete bombardment of the Gaza Strip, where it has decimated civilian neighbourhoods.
The US sent the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier to the Mediterranean Sea, as part of its support for Israel.
