Independent UN experts have warned that the Palestinian people are facing a significant threat of genocide.

The experts, including Francesca Albanese, the Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, issued a joint statement, on Thursday, expressing their concern that the Palestinian people face a great risk of genocide.

“We remain convinced that the Palestinian people are at grave risk of genocide,”  said the independent experts who do not speak on behalf of the United Nations, noting that time was running out to prevent genocide and a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
