The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that a senior officer has been killed in fighting in the north of the Gaza Strip, and three soldiers have been seriously wounded.
The death of Major General (res.) Yaakov Ozari, 28, from Kfar Shamai, brings the number of those killed since 7 October acknowledged by the apartheid state to 349. Ozari was an officer in the 52nd Battalion, 401st Armoured Brigade.
The soldiers wounded in the fighting in northern Gaza were with the 13th Battalion, Golani Brigade; the 601st Battalion, 401st Armoured Brigade; and the 890th Battalion, Paratroop Brigade.
Fighting continues in several areas in the north of the Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces are advancing, supported by intense airstrikes and artillery shelling. Despite this, the Palestinian factions continue to target Israeli forces with anti-tank missiles and direct engagement.
