US senator votes against Israeli military aid package

US Senator Jeff Merkley says he voted against an emergency supplemental aid package to Israel as he could not ‘in good conscience’ vote to send more bombs and shells to Israel at a time where they are conducting a military campaign that killed over 28,000 civilians in Gaza, including at least 19,000 women and children.
