Former Iran President threatens Israel in final public speech
Former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told students in Pakistan that 'nothing would be left' of the Israeli regime if it directly attacked Iranian soil, in what is believed to be his last public speech on tensions with Israel before he was killed in a helicopter crash in northern Iran on 19 May 2024. Speaking at the Government College University of Lahore, Raisi also expressed Iran and Pakistan's shared commitment to defending 'the resistance and oppressed Palestinian people'.
