Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola yesterday denied reports that the team’s Belgian international star, Kevin De Bruyne, is heading for Saudi Arabia.

The Mirror newspaper had reported that City was eyeing Crystal Palace star, 26-year-old Eberechi Eze, as a successor to De Bruyne. However, in a press conference held yesterday, Guardiola said: “Kevin is not going.”

“But we’ll see, I don’t know in the last moment if someone comes for some players and they leave, we’re going to decide.”

The Mirror had reported that the English team’s management is considering submitting a huge offer worth £68 million ($88 million) for Eze.

Eze has a contract with Crystal Palace until the summer of 2027, with a release clause of £60 million ($77.6 million). His departure would be a major blow to the London club, which sold its French winger Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
