Former Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh, has urged countries to revoke the citizenship of dual national Israeli settlers, Ma’an news agency reported.
Shtayyeh called on these countries to demand that Israelis who live in illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories either leave the settlements or have their dual citizenship revoked.
Following recent international actions against some terrorist settlers, Shtayyeh emphasised that these countries must make it clear to their citizens and dual nationals living illegally in the settlements that their presence is illegitimate and unlawful.
He also called on foreign embassies in Tel Aviv to refrain from processing any paperwork or renewing documents for settlers, as the colonies and settlements in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem do not fall under Israel’s geographical jurisdiction. He highlighted that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and United Nations (UN) resolutions consider Palestinian territories as occupied and the settlements there as illegal.
