Mohammad Dahlan, the former head of the Palestinian Authority’s Preventive Security, has denied any involvement in post-war arrangements in Gaza.
In a statement on his account on X, Dahlan said yesterday that “various scenarios are frequently presented or leaked to the media regarding the outcomes and arrangements for the day after the ongoing devastating war initiated by the Israeli occupation.”
Sometimes, he noted, “his name is thrown in to create some excitement.”
Dahlan emphasised that he and his colleagues are committed to assisting the people in Gaza, with generous and continuous support from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The former PA leader added that they would only support decisions made by the Palestinian people. He emphasised that this consensus would help rebuild the Palestinian political system through a transparent democratic process and secure an international action plan leading to the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
“I have repeatedly refused to accept any security, governmental or executive role,” he added.
