Israeli occupation forces have demolished at least 765 Palestinian homes and facilities in the occupied West Bank since 7 October, the Palestinian Information Centre revealed yesterday.

Of those, 387 Palestinian homes were razed in Nablus alone, 49 in July. While in occupied East Jerusalem, 95 homes and facilities were demolished, 41 of which were inhabited homes and 25 were uninhabited.

In Hebron, which is the location of a large number of settler attacks on Palestinians, 76 homes and facilities were destroyed, including 48 inhabited homes and 11 uninhabited homes.

The centre also indicated that the demolitions affected 44 homes and facilities in Jenin, 41 in Bethlehem, 40 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 32 in Tulkarm, 26 in Qalqilya, 15 in Ramallah, and nine homes in Salfit.

Human rights reports have warned of a dangerous escalation in the policy of home demolition carried out by the occupation in the West Bank, in order to displace the Palestinians and expel them from their lands.

According to Israeli rights group Peace Now, since 7 October, Israel has “invested immense resources in creating facts on the ground” by established at least 25 new illegal outposts, most of them agricultural outposts involved in the land takeover and systematic expulsion of Palestinians from the area.

It added that dozens of roads have been paved and 24,193 dunams (2,419 hectares) of land has been declared “state land”, while the government has approved the establishment of five new illegal settlements – all of which were illegal outposts – and the plans for 8,721 housing units in settlements.
