The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced yesterday that its forces had destroyed a Houthi drone and a drone boat in the Red Sea.
CENTCOM said in a statement posted on X that its “forces successfully destroyed one Iranian-backed Houthi uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) and one uncrewed surface vessel (USV) in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.”
Adding that “it was determined these systems presented a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region.”

On Saturday, the Houthi group claimed responsibility for an attack on a cargo ship called Groton in the Gulf of Aden for violating “a ban on entry to Israeli ports”.
The group said it had attacked the same ship on 3 August , noting that it would continue its operations in support of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
Since November, the Houthis have carried out more than 170 operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, in response to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, according to the group’s statements.
