Two Israeli occupation soldiers were killed and seven others were injured after an Israeli helicopter crashed near the Philadelphi Corridor in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli reports, four of the soldiers were seriously injured, including three soldiers who were on board the helicopter, while the fourth was waiting to be rescued after being shot.

In the details announced by the Israeli army, “an Air Force ‘Yanshov’ helicopter crashed last night while landing, while it was carrying out a mission to transport a wounded soldier to receive treatment in a hospital.”

The Israeli army said the crash was not a result of the helicopter coming under fire and said an “investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing, while there has been no change in the operational activities of the Air Force.”

“As a result of the helicopter crash, two soldiers were killed, while seven others were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment,” it added.

According to Army Radio, the military helicopter crashed after “falling from a low altitude without being exposed to enemy fire, and it appears that this happened due to a technical malfunction or human error.”
