Israel’s Channel 12 has reported that power was cut off in the Upper Galilee towns in the north of the country after rockets launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon landed in the area. The Israeli occupation army announced that it observed the launch of “102 rockets” during the evening hours of Wednesday. Altogether, claimed Channel 12, “about 220 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel since” Wednesday morning”.

Moreover, Hezbollah announced that it had destroyed three Israeli Merkava tanks with guided missiles. The tanks were advancing towards Maroun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon at the time. The movement added on Wednesday evening that its fighters detonated an explosive device when Israeli infantry entered a house near Kfar Kila, killing “a number of occupation soldiers” and wounding some others.

Israeli invasion forces were also targeted in the Matala orchards, as was a helicopter flying over Beit Hillel settlement in Israel. “The occupation army is not announcing its casualty figures,” spokesman Muhammad Afifi told journalists during a tour of the southern suburbs of Beirut.

“We killed a large number of enemy troops during clashes in Adaisseh and Maroun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon, but the enemy is imposing a blackout on this information,” said Afifi. “What happened in those towns is only the beginning, and the movement is at the highest levels of preparedness in the south.”

The Israeli occupation army launched a large-scale attack on Lebanon on 23 September, the heaviest since the beginning of the cross-border exchanges with Hezbollah about a year ago. This has led to the death of many Hezbollah political and military leaders, including Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.
