The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s call to cease arms exports to Israel in light of the Israeli military’s violations of international law and humanitarian law in Gaza and Lebanon.
In a statement issued yesterday, the ministry stressed that Macron’s appeal reflects the growing international outrage over Israel’s brutal aggression against Gaza and Lebanon. It urged the international community to take immediate action to implement the call, alongside a permanent and immediate ceasefire.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also praised France’s continued support for Palestinian rights and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
It added that Israeli violations have resulted in tens of thousands of civilian casualties and injuries, the majority of whom are women and children.
