Gaza, one year on: The war in numbers

MEMO counts up the toll of Israel's one year assault, invasion and occupation of Gaza. Using statistics from world-renowned institutions, the numbers show how the Gaza war has been one of the deadliest for civilians this century. Those that are still living are all at risk of famine as Israel stops much needed food aid from entering Gaza, and even sends back some essential supplies. If and when a ceasefire is reached, Palestinians in Gaza will have to effectively rebuild the whole Strip with most buildings, hospitals, schools and vital infrastructure now destroyed. And for the 100,000 that have already left Gaza, it remains unclear if they'll ever be allowed to return.
