Oman Grand Mufti: Palestinians are confronting aggression, defending truth

The Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Khalili, has called on Muslim nations to support Palestinians living under Israel’s brutal occupation and genocide, reminding them it is their religious duty to do so.

Referencing the Holy Quran in his post, Al-Khalili said in a statement on X that “an entire year has passed since the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation began, and all four seasons have passed, while day and night, the brave heroes continue to confront the cruel enemy supported by the forces of evil in the world. They neither lost heart for all they had to suffer in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in. Al-Imran:146.”

“They set the most wonderful examples of defending the truth and confronting aggression with utmost steadfastness,” he added.

In a message to Muslims around the world, Al-Khalili said: “This requires the entire Islamic nation to support them with money and supplies, and to stand with them with all their might, seeking help from God Almighty, as there is no supporter or saviour other than Him. Accordingly, I call upon the conscience of the nation to rise up to carry out this duty, and to spare no effort in what will bring them good and achieve these oppressed people their wish for freedom, security, stability and a prosperous life.”

“Everyone must take from the sustenance that God has given them and use it for this purpose. This is what we are saving until the day we meet Allah when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit; only a sound heart.”

He added: “While my appeal is directed to the entire nation, I single out its scholars, whom God has entrusted with His trust and commanded them to be role models of goodness for the nation and to embody the values ​​of faith in their lives.”
