The United States bears responsibility for the continued Israeli aggression in Palestine and Lebanon, Deputy Secretary-General of Lebanese Hezbollah group, Naim Qassem, said yesterday, adding that if it was not for US involvement, the war would have ended in less than a month.

Qassem stressed that the resistance is “united” and will strike Israel at the appropriate time and place.

“We chose to support Gaza and defend Lebanon and its people. The resistance in Gaza and the West Bank cannot be defeated,” he said.

Qassem pointed out that Hezbollah supports political efforts led by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to reach a ceasefire.

“We are waiting to engage with the Israeli army, which will incur heavy losses, perhaps this will be the prelude to ending the war.”
