Iraq has begun exporting jet fuel from its ports to international markets, the German Press Agency (DPA) reported.
In a press statement issued yesterday, Hamid Younis, the deputy minister of oil, confirmed that the ministry has begun exporting between 800 and 1,000 tonnes of jet fuel daily, as Iraq’s jet fuel production meets international standards and specifications.
Younis highlighted that “this export initiative is a step in the right direction, strengthening Iraq’s position globally among oil-producing and exporting nations. Moreover, it reflects the progress in Iraq’s oil industry.”
“Exporting oil products contributes to increasing financial revenues from the oil sector’s activities, thereby supporting the national economy and achieving economic development,” the official added.
