A recent episode of UK reality TV show Big Brother was removed from streaming software and reuploaded after a contestant was seen wearing a t-shirt showing solidarity with Palestine.
In Tuesday’s episode, 38-year-old Ali Bromley could be seen wearing a t-shirt of a watermelon in the shape of the map of historic Palestine.
The fruit, which has become a symbol of Palestine, led to complaints to Ofcom from the Israel aligned Campaign Against Antisemitism.
The episode was removed from ITVX on Tuesday and then re-uploaded on Wednesday with the t-shirt edited and appearing to be all black.

A spokesperson for Big Brother told the Independent: “All Housemate items are checked by our production team before they go into the Big Brother House to ensure they comply with the Rules and compliance requirements.”
“Big Brother does not allow any personal items into the House that could be deemed harmful. We regret that the implications of this particular item of clothing were not fully understood in our bag checks or prior to the broadcast of last night’s show.
The removal of the watermelon symbol has caused uproar with social media users highlighting that Big Brother allowed right-wing UK Member of Parliament Nigal Farage to to a contestant on the show but isn’t allowing someone to stand up against a genocide.
Big Brother erasing the watermelon shirt is disgusting. People are dying, she is allowed to take a stance. It’s not antisemetic at all. Farage was on one of your shows AS A CONTESTANT which no doubt helped his popularity in the election months back. @ITV @ITVX disgusting.
