The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on Thursday, strongly condemned a terrorist attack that targeted Turkiye’s state-run Aerospace company in the capital, Ankara, Anadolu Agency reports.

In a statement, OIC Secretary-General, Sharein Brahim Taha, reaffirmed the bloc’s “unequivocal support for Turkiye in its counter-terrorism initiatives,” and emphasized the OIC’s “steadfast stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”

Taha extended his condolences to the families of the victims and the Turkish people and government.

At least five people were killed and 22 injured on Wednesday when terrorists attacked the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), according to Turkish Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya.

Yerlikaya said it is “highly likely” that the PKK terrorist group is responsible, adding Turkiye will share the identifications and other evidence as they become clear.

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, condemned the “heinous attack” that targeted the country’s “survival, peace and defence initiatives.”
