Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly afraid that a drone attack might target the Knesset building, Anadolu reported citing local media.

“Netanyahu fears drones, and his fears have increased,” the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said yesterday, noting that Tel Aviv is anticipating an Iranian response to the attack carried out against the Islamic Republic on Saturday which killed four soldiers and one civilian.

The news organisation added that Netanyahu asked during a private meeting yesterday, “Where could they go if a drone attacks the Knesset now?”

“What I fear the most are drones. In the face of missiles, we have good systems to detect and intercept them. I do not understand why the Knesset convenes in its permanent place and not somewhere else,” Netanyahu reportedly said during the meeting.

Netanyahu’s office did not respond to requests for comment.

The Israeli government did not hold its weekly meeting in Netanyahu’s office in West Jerusalem as it usually would, but rather in a secret underground bunker, multiple Israeli media sources said.

Earlier on Sunday, Israel’s Channel 12 said Netanyahu’s office has requested two million shekels ($530,000) from the state treasury to undertake security upgrades at his private Caesarea home after it was hit by a Hezbollah drone last weekend.
