Kuwaiti man stabs his mother to death

A Kuwaiti citizen fatally stabbed his mother yesterday in a brutal crime that shocked the Sabah Al-Salem area of the capital city, Gulf Online reported.

Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas cited a security source as confirming that the Ministry of Interior’s operations room received a report of the murder, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement and forensic teams, who arrived at the scene. The suspect was revealed to have been a young man in his twenties.

Al-Qabas further reported that the suspect repeatedly stabbed his mother with a knife until she succumbed to her injuries, while his brother, who attempted to intervene to protect their mother, was also injured.

Kuwaiti authorities have since detained the suspect, who has been transferred to the relevant authorities for a comprehensive investigation to uncover the motives behind the attack.

The mother’s body has been sent to the coroner, while the injured brother has been admitted to hospital for treatment.

The source added that initial investigations revealed that the perpetrator has a prior criminal record, and the case remains under active investigation.
