The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, released a video on Monday giving details of the Israeli captives killed in the Gaza Strip as a result of the “stubbornness” of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his failure to stop the war on the Strip and agree a prisoner exchange deal.

Hamas said that “33 Zionist captives were killed, and the remains of some were lost due to the criminal Netanyahu and his fascist army.” The movement added that, “Netanyahu’s stubbornness and his continuation of the aggression is raising the death toll of the enemy’s captives.” Addressing Netanyahu directly, Hamas added: “By continuing your crazy war, you may lose all of your captives forever. Do what you must before it is too late.”

Details of the killing of Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip included the fact that on 9 October last year, four captives were killed along with their captors. Nine more were killed on 14 October as a direct result of Israel’s intensive bombing in Gaza.

The movement also reported that on 8 December last year fighters from its military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, managed to prevent an attempt by occupation forces to reach a soldier held captive in Gaza in a move which led to his death. Moreover, on 1 March, seven captives were killed in Israeli bombing, weeks after losing contact with their captors.

Hamas confirmed that on 9 June, three Israeli captives were killed in a massacre committed by the occupation in the central Gaza Strip, and one was killed on 12 August by his guard, and two female captives were seriously injured.

On 2 September, six captives were killed as a result of the ongoing aggression. The Zionist occupation state announced the recovery of their bodies from a tunnel in Rafah. An Israeli female prisoner was also reported killed on 21 October in northern Gaza after intensive Israeli bombing, with another killed on 21 November during the ongoing Israeli offensive.
