Three Israeli-American real estate moguls have been charged with sex trafficking and rape, in a case which casts further shadow on their Manhattan luxury real estate empire.
According to an unsealed federal indictment in New York, Tal and Oren Alexander and their brother, Alon, have been charged with sex trafficking after being accused of drugging and raping “dozens of victims” over more than a decade.
Having reportedly “used their wealth and positions to create and facilitate opportunities to rape and sexually assault women”, the brothers were said to have often “lured” women with luxury trips, in which they then allegedly committed sexual assault.
They were also accused by the eight-page indictment in US District Court in Manhattan of having “worked together and with others known and unknown” to carry out such a sex trafficking scheme, leading to their arrest in Miami on Wednesday morning.
The three each reportedly face one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and one count of sex trafficking of a victim by force, fraud or coercion. Tal Alexander also faces an additional count of sex trafficking of a victim by force, fraud or coercion.
If convicted, the brothers – Israeli-American dual nationals – could face sentences of 15 years to life in prison. They have all denied wrong-doing.
