An informed Egyptian source, who spoke exclusively to Cairo News yesterday, denied reports suggesting an upcoming visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

Cairo News reported that there has been intensive Egyptian and Qatari efforts with all parties to reach a truce agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised the urgent need for the international community to ensure full and unrestricted access to humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip, given the catastrophic deterioration of conditions there.

A high-level Israeli delegation visited Cairo on 10 December as part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to mediate a truce in Gaza, support aid entry and address the worsening regional situation.
