Palestinian prisoners affiliated with the Fatah movement in Israeli prisons have appealed to the Palestinian people to preserve national unity and reject all forms of internal fighting, the Ma’an news agency reported yesterday.

“We strongly condemn the actions of some outlawed parties who claim patriotism and target the Palestinian people’s unity by inciting sedition and internal fighting,” the prisoners said in a statement.

They called on the Palestinian people to rally around the independent Palestinian national decision and confront the Israeli occupation’s plans aimed at ending the Palestinians’ presence on their land and depriving them of their rights.

The prisoners also stressed the importance of preserving national unity in confronting the Israeli occupation’s attempts to destabilise Palestinian internal stability, and warned against being drawn into “seditions” promoted by “suspicious media”.

They stressed that the sacrifices they made during the years of their captivity were only to preserve the Palestinian people’s dignity and independence, stressing that freedom will only be achieved through the unity of the Palestinian position.
