Egypt has strongly condemned Israel’s systematic targeting of Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure and the forced evacuation and targeting of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the hospital as the last major functioning healthcare facility in northern Gaza. It asserted that Israel’s actions constitute a flagrant violation of all international norms and conventions and add to the series of violations committed by the occupation authorities against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Egypt warned against continuing these acts, which aim to render northern Gaza uninhabitable and forcibly displace its residents. It called for urgent measures to hold Israel accountable and for the international community and the UN Security Council to take decisive actions to halt these practices.

Israel actions, Cairo explained, not only represent gross violations of international law and humanitarian law but also pose a serious threat to regional and global peace and security.

Reaffirming its stance, Egypt unequivocally rejected any plans or steps to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza. It stressed the urgent need to end the ongoing conflict

and remove obstacles preventing the flow of humanitarian aid. This would enable adequate and sustainable relief efforts for hundreds of thousands of residents.

Last week, Israeli occupation forces set fire to Kamal Adwan Hospital and its surrounding area, forcibly evacuating patients, the injured, medical staff and their companions.

Israel said it detained more than 240 Palestinians who were in the facility, including Director Dr Hussam Abu Safiya.
