The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said on Sunday that the remarks by an extremist Israeli minister about Israel’s aspiration to reach the gates of Damascus emphasise the occupation state’s aggressive intention in the region, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported. Hamas called on the Arab and Islamic world to unite to confront the plans of the Israeli occupation regime.

The movement said that the “terrorist” Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi’s storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem along with dozens of extremist settlers also confirms Israel’s colonial intentions and ambitions towards controlling more Arab land. Karhi entered Al-Aqsa under the protection of the occupation police.

The movement condemned the minister’s statements and described the occupation regime as “fascist”.

Moreover, it called for “effective action to stop the ongoing war of extermination against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
