The Israeli occupation army will not allow Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip to become operational once again, Haaretz reported yesterday, citing army sources.
The paper quoted the army as saying that it will not allow the hospital to resume operations in the northern Gaza Strip, explaining that the army’s 401st Brigade, which has been operating in Jabalia refugee camp for three months, has isolated Gaza City from the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military said it now has “a better ability to supervise the nearby Indonesian Hospital, and therefore almost all activity at Kamal Adwan Hospital has been moved there.”
Haaretz quoted Palestinian medical officials in the Strip as saying that the Israeli occupation army has completely destroyed the hospital and it will be difficult for it to become operational.
With Kamal Adwan Hospital out of service, the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya is the only hospital north of Gaza City; however it has also sustained major damage due to Israeli attacks last week.
