The Israeli occupation forces demolished the home of a Palestinian detainee at dawn today, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported. Muhammad Talal Abu Yassin, who has been in Israeli custody since January last year, is accused of carrying out an attack on Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources said that about 30 military vehicles and two bulldozers raided Bal’a, in Tulkarem, and surrounded a house in the western district of the town. They then proceeded to demolish Abu Yassin’s home.

The Israeli occupation regime regularly demolishes the family homes of Palestinian detainees accused of carrying out legitimate anti-occupation operations. Human rights groups say that is collective punishment and may amount to war crimes.
