Top resignations in Israeli army over 7 October failure - Report

Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper has listed the most prominent figures to resign from the Israeli army over the 7 October, 2023 Hamas- cross border attack.

The newspaper indicated that the most prominent figures to resign are:

The paper claimed that Halevi took over as Chief of Staff of the Israeli army at a turbulent time and was appointed by a transitional government.

He took office at a time when the Chief of Staff was clashing with the political echelon and in the midst of the judicial overhaul controversy that shook Israeli society and created serious divisions.

It noted that the army had failed miserably in confronting the Hamas surprise attack, but claimed that, under his leadership, the army recovered and succeeded after more than a year of continuous war in seven different arenas, including in Gaza and Lebanon.
