Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Muhammad Al-Hindi, revealed yesterday that the movement has agreed to release Israeli prisoner Arbel Yehud before next Saturday, in exchange for the release of 30 Palestinian prisoners. This is after the return of Gazans displaced in the southern Gaza Strip to the north became dependent on her release.

Al-Hindi added in statements that the movement agreed to this in order to eliminate this excuse used by the occupation and ensure the return of the displaced to the northern Gaza Strip.

In this context, the Al-Nasser Salah Al-Deen Brigades issued a statement confirming that captive Arbel Yehud was captured by a joint group from Al-Nasser Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades on 7 October 2023.

Al-Nasser Brigades explained that the handover will take place in accordance with the agreements reached between the heads of the negotiating delegation and the mediators.

The displaced people in the south of the Gaza Strip were scheduled to return to the north yesterday, on foot via the coastal Rasheed Street, while vehicles were to travel across Salah Al-Din Street, moving one way only, according to the ceasefire agreement between the resistance factions and Israel. However Israel placed roadblocks along the routes and only allowed Palestinians into the north today, 24 hours later than agreed.
