Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, has said that Amman’s principles remain clear, and supporting Palestinians to remain on their land is a firm and unchanging national position.

He added that Jordan’s rejection of displacement is steadfast and essential for achieving the stability and peace that everyone seeks. He reiterated that resolving the Palestinian issue lies in Palestine, emphasising that “Jordan is for Jordanians, and Palestine is for Palestinians.”

These remarks were made during a joint press statement with Sigrid Kaag, the UN’s acting special coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and the senior coordinator for humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

Safadi also noted that, following royal directives, Jordan continues its efforts to deliver the maximum amount of aid to Gaza.

He affirmed Jordan’s aspiration to cooperate with the US administration to achieve peace in the region.

Both Safadi and Kaag stressed the importance of continued collaboration to realise a just and comprehensive peace. They emphasised that the only path forward is establishing an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty on Palestinian national soil, based on the two-state solution along the borders of 4 June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
