The Israeli occupation army today claimed to have intercepted a Hezbollah surveillance drone, marking the first incident since a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon came into effect at the end of November.

A military statement said the drone was launched from inside Lebanese territory toward Israel, without giving any further details.

No sirens were activated amid the incident, the army said.

There was no comment from Hezbollah on the Israeli claim.

According to Israel’s Channel 13, the incident was the first since a ceasefire took effect on 27 November. Israel has breached the truce hundreds of terms and has not withdrawn from southern Lebanon within the 60-day agreed period, which ended on 26 January, with the US announcing an extension had been given for the occupation forces to remain in the area until 18 February.
