The Israeli occupation army is preparing a plan to bring Syrian Druze citizens into Israel for employment, according to the Israeli news channel i24NEWS, as cited by Sama.
“The decision is still under consideration and planning, but it comes in response to requests from Syrian Druze seeking family reunification with their relatives in the occupied Golan Heights, and also because Israel’s control of the buffer zone in Syria hampers Druze work in this area, especially on their agricultural land,” the channel said, citing the army.
On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for southern Syria to be demilitarised and said Tel Aviv would not allow Syrian forces to enter the area, stressing that for “Israel’s security”, occupation forces would remain on Mount Herman and other strategic sites they captured after the fall of the Assad regime in December last year.
