Syrians protest in Daraa rejecting Netanyahu's statements

Hundreds of Syrians demonstrated in the centre of the southern city of Daraa, rejecting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s call for the demilitarisation of southern Syria and insistence that Israeli occupation forces will not allow the Syrian army into the area south of the capital, Damascus.

According to Anadolu, hundreds of Syrians participated in a demonstration in March 18 Square in the city of Daraa, rejecting Netanyahu’s statements, which they considered “blatant interference” in their country’s affairs.

Israeli reconnaissance planes were seen flying over the area at the start of the protest, the news agency’s correspondent reported.
