Israel’s President Isaac Herzog announced on X today that the bodies of the four Israeli captives who had been handed over to Israel last night by Palestinian resistance groups had been identified, Reuters reports.

Hamas handed over the bodies of Tsachi Idan, Itzhak Elgarat, Ohad Yahalomi and Shlomo Mantzur yesterday as part of a prisoner exchange agreement.

French President Emmanuel Macron also said today that the Franco-Israeli captive Yahalomi had been confirmed dead.

Hundreds of Palestinians were also released by Israel in return for the bodies, in an overnight exchange marking the final swap as part of a fragile truce in Gaza.
