The Islamic Jihad Movement has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to close Gaza’s border crossings and block the entry of humanitarian aid, calling it a crime against humanity that adds to his criminal record.

The movement stated that Netanyahu’s actions are encouraged by the Trump administration in the US, which continues to provide Netanyahu with political cover, as well as additional weapons and ammunition.

In a press statement received by Safa yesterday, Islamic Jihad stressed that this unjust decision not only violates and undermines the ceasefire agreement in Gaza but also signals the beginning of a new phase of aggression against the territory.

It described the move as part of an ongoing campaign of extermination and displacement against the Palestinian people, for which the Israeli government, its military and its backers in Washington bear full responsibility.

The movement further stated: “Those who express concern for the enemy’s captives held by the resistance in Gaza should remember that the occupying entity has held Gaza and its people under siege and starvation for many years.”
