Syria forms committee to draft constitutional declaration for transitional phase

Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa announced on Sunday that a committee of experts has been formed to draft a constitutional declaration to regulate the country’s transitional political phase.

According to the announcement on social media, the committee will include the following: Abdul Hamid Al-Awak, Yasser Al-Huwish, Ismail Al-Khalfan, Rayan Kahilan, Mohammed Rida Jalakhi, Bahiyya Mardini and Ahmed Korbi.” They will submit the draft to the interim president.

“This decision aligns with the aspirations of the Syrian people for a state built on the rule of law, follows the resolutions of the recently concluded Syrian National Dialogue Conference, and will serve as the legal framework regulating the transitional phase,” said the presidential statement.
