Morocco has received six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters as part of a contract for 24 helicopters with Boeing, Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported yesterday, citing Defense Arabia.
The Apache is considered the most powerful attack helicopter in the world. The Moroccan version features advanced specifications, making it the most sophisticated in Africa.
Morocco signed a contract with the American company to purchase 24 Apache helicopters at an estimated cost of $1.5 billion, with an option to acquire an additional 12.
Morocco has received six Boeing AH-64E Apache helicopters, the world’s most advanced attack helicopters.
Morocco became the 17th country to place an order for the helicopter in 2020. This is the first 6 out of 24 Morocco purchased.

The deal also includes Hellfire missiles, rocket launchers, advanced communication and navigation systems, maintenance equipment and a specialised training programme for Moroccan personnel.
With this acquisition, the Royal Armed Forces reached a new level of capability, making Morocco the second African country to operate this helicopter after Egypt, according to Defense Arabia.
The Apache helicopter is heavily armed, capable of carrying up to 16 Hellfire missiles, 76 rockets of 2.75-inch calibre, and 1,200 rounds of 30mm ammunition. It can also reach a maximum speed of over 250 kilometres per hour.
