Saudi Arabia reaffirms support for Palestinian statehood at Arab League summit
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm stance on Palestinian rights at the emergency Arab League summit on Gaza, rejecting all measures that undermine Palestinian sovereignty. 'We in the Kingdom categorically reject any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, whether through settlement activities, annexation of Palestinian lands or their displacement,' he declared. He also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to a two-state solution, emphasising that Palestinians have the right to self-determination and statehood. “We affirm the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination in their land and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital,” he stated. His remarks came as Arab leaders discussed an urgent Arab response to the crisis in Gaza and Trump's proposal for the relocation of its Palestinian population.
